I've been extremely busy at my internship, many collegues have been ill so I've actually been taking over peoples hours for 4 weeks now, which is why I haven't been here at all. Today is Sunday, coming week hopefully will be more rest and sleep for me.
Here's a quick review on the Illamasqua products I ordered recently. The loose pigment is SUPER. I'll try and do a look with it later today and post it. The pencil however was a huge disappointment. It's a pretty hard pencil and the payoff is a lot less then I expected. Also it's not easy to smudge or blend so I wouldn't get more of those, my favourite pencils are and remain today the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils. The brushes I got however are SUPER, I have no other way to describe them. I'll show them to you when I do the look (if I have time). They're the best brushes I have so that's saying a lot!
I've found an AMAZING Halloween Tutorial on YouTube and I can't embed it but I will give you the link to it (part 1 and part 2). I wouldn't use ordinairy glue on my skin though, so get kids glue or use surgical adhesive or actual face glue.
I had these nails a while back, the polishes an Essence green and a GOSH glittery blue which I layerd (like I did with the Thills in Beverly Hills nails) Lamp: Flash: Sun: They're not super awesome, but I wanted some pictures to go with this post. ;)
I did this great cat eye today for Kikidawn, I hope you like it girl. If you don't do the hairline and the brows it's a great daring look and if you take away the black line under the eye it's a great cat-eye for day.
I used a dark red, brown and gold, so no green or purple (because that's not catlike to me, if you want you can change up the colours) but with your eyes (green and brown hazel with gold flecks and just a thin ring of blue around them) I think this will look very pretty.
Another thing I did was film it, I was annoyed because I actually walk around a lot when doing my makeup and now I had to stay put. Because I filmed it I didn't take pictures in between, but halfway through my battery died and I didn't notice so it was all in vain. :(

Face When I started on this eye I used Photo Finish as a primer to prevent the makeup moving later on. As a base for the eyeshadow I used Eyeshadow Primer Potion. As a foundation I used Magic Wand Foundation because it's light and yellow based. As a powder to set everything (except the eyes) I used High Definition Powder with a Mineral Powder Brush.
Eyes I made the eyes lighter all around the eyelid to lighten it even more then a concealer and/or shadow could by using the white from the Noir & Blanc pencil by Bourjois. I set this white with the white from the Panorama trio with an all over shadow brush.
To see how the eyeshadow will look on the face later on, I did the brows now. I used a slanted brush with Perversion to make my brows black and I even drew it further inward. I then took the Zero pencil to darken the inner point and draw where I want the eyebrow to have it's "furry look". I used the Smudge Brush to blend the inner corner into the brow. I then used Talika Eyebrow Extender in Black all over my brows, so make them seem more furry and black. With this gadget I also made my brows look thicker and "made" some more brow hairs.
I took up the Stila, Smudge Pot in black and used the 21 Arced liner brush to blacken my waterline and the pointed eyeliner brush to make the furry brows look neater and I started to draw the inner corner point as near to the lash line as possible. I made the outer wing and I went over it again with the no. 21 brush to make the line a little thicker. I also drew the lines under my eyes.
Over the eyeliner I took some Roach with the no. 26 shadow brush and took it into the inner corner with the no. 15 definer brush. At this point I took the Honey shadow do dust a little (with the 26 brush) on the centre of my eyelid and under the line under my eye. I then took Heat on the other wing of the roach near the brow and made the line here a little more red.
I used the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Honey (yes I did buy it after I missed it so much last week), and made the outer corners of the black line under my eyes a little golden.
At this point, if you only look at the eye, it looks like this:
I used more of the honey pencil to draw "fur" from my hairline inward. I went over this creating hairs in different colours with the pencils Lucky, 1999, Bourbon, Stash, Yeyo, Zero and the white Bourjois again. The Yeyo pencil is a great shiny white sheen which I used over the white between the lines under my eyes and under my brow for a little extra kick.
I curled my lashes and used Diorshow as my mascara, moving the mascara wand outward only to create even more catlike eyes because this makes the lashes bend a little that way.
At this point I did my hair in a ponytail and used the ends all scrunched with wax and bobby pins as a furry ring around the hairline.
Petrilude has actually done more Halloween looks, but these are my favourites. If you want to see all of them or other makeup tutorials by Petrilude visit his youtube page.
