Easy-Peasy Look (with You don't know Jaques!)

Hi everyone,

I've been waiting to do my next huge look, because I've had a lot of looks waiting in my list (Pink Smokey, Redo MAC look, Alyssa Milano, Iveenia Request, Webpandora request, multicoloured lips, many more nailpolish looks etc etc) and I didn't post the looks I have on everyday. I finally chose to show you some of my everyday looks simply because the huge looks take up a lot of time and I've been busy and haven't been posting as much eye looks as I once did. Sooo the ones I promised are still coming up... but there will be more looks in between.

Face:
On my Face I'm using Smashbox - Hybrid 2 in 1 Luminizing primer from the Greenroom Collection as a base. For the foundation I'm wearing 50% Lancaster, Infinite Bronze Face Bronzer with 15 SPF mixed with 50% Smashbox, High Definition Healthy FX Foundation in Light L3, I applied this with my fingers to really work it into my skin, making it look more natural. On my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin I used Chanel, Bronze Universal to create a natural bronze look using the Sephora Brand - Professionnel Platinum Stippling Brush no. 44.
Just because you're bronzing, doesn't mean you should skip contouring, so I used a no longer sold Smashbox Bronzer/Blush duo called Contour/Pop to contour using the Sephora, Mineral powder brush no. 45. The blush I used is from the Blush/Soft lights Duo (available in the Smashbox Runway Glam Kit), I mixed both colours to create my perfect blush colour.

Go-to Easy-Peasy Eyes:
On my eyes I've got the Urban Decay, Eyeshadow Primer Potion to create an amazing base, over this I used Smashbox, Cream Eyeliner in Cameo with a Smashbox, no. 15 definer brush on my eyelid and under my eye. I blended this really well just over my crease, using more on the inside then on the outside of the crease. On my eyelids I'm wearing Smashbox, Bronze eyeshadow, which is not sold on their website, but they did send me one as a gift, so no idea when they'll sell it again, it is a lovely colour though. I applied the Bronze with the same brush as the cream eyeliner. Also using the same brush I applied the golden colour from theInstant Eyes Shadow & Liner Palette from the Smashbox Runway Glam Kit on the centre of my eyelid (creating a little more depth). The lightest colour I used under the arch of my brow. To curl my lashes I used the Shu Uemura, Lash curler and the mascara is Dior, Diorshow Waterproof in 090 noir.

Lips:
On my lips I used the darker side from the Fast Track lipgloss, available in the Smashbox Runway Glam Kit. I used a Benefit lipliner to create a more pointy (yet natural) cupid's bow.

(Flash light) Nails:
On my nails (I took this picture at night, I'll add more sunlight pictures tomorrow), I'm wearing OPI, Original Nail Envy followed by two coats of You don't know Jaques (also by OPI) and OPI RapiDry TopCoat. As the quickdry drops I used Essie's Quick-e drops.
These are my nails the next day (with the Konad M71 art on it):
Sunlight (before topcoat):
Flashlight (after topcoat):

Boots:
I was wearing these Invito boots (I call them my pirate boots).

For the rest if my outfit I was wearing faded jeans and a Olive Green shirt.

I hope you like this full easy look.

Challenge 13 - JLo Look Tutorial

Here is the semi complete tutorial of the JLo Challenge. It's been so long since I did it that I can't really remember what I did. But I'll do my best to recall as much as possible.

Face

Products in this picture:
- Sephora, "Tricks of the Trade" Immediate Wrinkle Filler
- Smashbox, Hybrid 2 in 1 Luminizing Primer
- Smashbox, High Definition Healthy FX Foundation in Light L3
- Smashbox, Travel Foundation Brush
- Lancaster, Infinite Bronze
- Smashbox, Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer in 2.0
- Make Up For Ever, HD Powder
- Sephora, Mineral Powder Brush, no. 45
- Smashbox, Baked Cheek Duo in On the Town from the Glambox Volume 3
- Smashbox, Fan Brush no. 22
- YSL, Touche Eclat in no. 2
- Smashbox, Lip & Lid Primer
- Benefit, Valley of the Stars using a combination of High Beam and Moon Beam

I started with a clean face and put some Immediate Wrinkle filler under my eyes (over my eyecream) to minimize the wrinkles. As a face primer I took a dollop of Hybrid 2 in 1 Luminizing Primer which isn't sold anymore. You can get the same effect by adding some Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion to your normal primer. My favourite primer is also by Smashbox and is the Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I place the products using my fingers because the warmth of your fingers makes it a thinner layer and you can really work it into your skin which means that it really minimizes pores when you use a foundation over it. As the foundation I took up my trusting High Definition Healthy FX Foundation which is actually a little too dark for me right now since it's winter time, but I'm so pale anyway I want to hide this by adding even more colour to the foundation with a drop of Infinite Bronze. I work this into my skin using a foundation brush.
Because I really have dark circles I used the no. 2 Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer which has a little more pink in it then the 3.0 concealer and that hides the blue tones better.
I set all the makeup with HD Powder and a mineral powder brush, I skip this on the apples of my cheeks because I'm using something else to make me look less worn down.
I took the Baked Cheek Duo in On the Town and used the Bronze side to contour my cheekbones a little. Not too much because when you're putting on too much it really looks like your hiding something and I want to look naturally healthy. I placed the contouring with a fan brush to ensure not using too much. This is a great brush for people who tend to overuse blush or contouring because it actually only picks up a little product at a time.
I used a little highlight Touche Eclat under my eyes on top of the HD powder because now you see it better. I primed my lids and lips at this point to give it time to settle before adding makeup on top of that.
On the mouse of my hand I mixed a little highbeam and moonbeam together to create a great colour that I then patted into the apples of my cheeks, making them more radiant and glowing.

Eyes

Products in this picture:
- Smashbox, Eye Shadow Trio in Panorama
- Smashbox, no. 26 Shadow Brush
- Guerlain, Guerlain, Ombre Eclat 4 Couleurs - 401 Jeu de Nuit
- Smashbox, No. 15 Definer Brush
- Smashbox, Eye Lights highlighting pencil
- Benefit, Valley of the Stars using the white eyeshadow
- Stila, Smudge pots in Jet Black
- Sephora, Professionnel Pointed Liner/Eyeliner Brush #17
- Sephora, Professional Glitter in an oister glowing colour, no longer sold online. But online they do have these at the moment
- Smashbox, Jet Set eyeliner in Midnight black
- Smashbox, Double Ended Smudger brush
- Sephora, Eyelash curler - Smashbox, Bionic Mascara Black
- Dior, Backstage Makeup Waterproof Mascara in 090 Black

As you probably can see I'm trying to grow my eyebrows a little thicker here so excuse the ingrowing hairs in the arch.
I started by using the white from the Smashbox Trio under my brows using the no. 26 shadow brush. This highlights the brows and makes them stick out more.

Using the dark grey from the Guerlain palette I smoked up my eyes, for placement I took up the no. 15 definer brush because this brush gives me lots of control on the density of the colour. On the outer edges I used less pressure to help with the blending and I didn't use a blender brush afterwards, if you do feel like you need to blend more, go ahead. I used the Eye Lights highlighting pencil as an extra highlight over the white to add some shine to the arch. Because this shines it also takes colour very well and I went over this with another eyeshadow, the white from the Valley of the Starts palette. I had it in my mind that this was an oister glowing eyeshadow but found out it wasn't at this point. So if you want your eyes more like Jennifer's, search for a great oister glow white eyeshadow to use as a highlight. I used some of the lighter grey from the Guerlain palette on the inner corner of my eye as a semi-highlight.

I used a Stila Smudge pot in Jet Black to line my eyes with the Sephora liner brush. I didn't use a flick at the end and only used it to darken the base of the lashes.

I then darkened my waterline using the JetSet because this is waterproof. I used the brush side from the double ended smudger brush to do this.

I curled my lashes at this point and added first a layer of Bionic mascara and then a layer of Dior Backstage Makeup Mascara because if you do this before the glitter you have less chance of glitter ending up in your eyes and also when curling the lashes you won't move the glitters.
I used some oister glowing glitter on my eyes to add a little sparkle and some of the glow Jennifer has.

Lips

Products in this picture
- Smashbox, Totally Fab Lip Gloss Collection

On my lips I used the golden tinted lipgloss.

So here is everything I was supposed to post a long while ago. More coming soon!

I was asked to show a picture of a different type of smokey eye, the normal smokey eye is starting to bore her and she wanted something new. Also she's pretty good with makeup so no in between pictures today (which is handy because I'm still searching for time).

Soooo I came up with this eye:

Products in this picture:

Smashbox, Travel Foundation Brush

Smashbox, Feather Brush - no. 22

Smashbox, Lip & Lid primer (using the lip side only)

Smashbox, Wicked Lovely Lipgloss - Coy

Urban Decay, Matte Eyeshadow - Naked

Sephora Professionnel Brand, All Over Shadow Brush - no. 21

Smashbox, Shadow Brush, no. 26

Make Up For Ever, Waterproof Eyeliner - Aqua Eyes

Sephora, Eyelash Curler

Dior, Diorshow - 090 Black

Face
Here's a quick step by step way to do this makeup.
To give my face a base coat I used the Hybrid 2 in 1 Luminizing Primer over my moisturizer (except on my eyes) using my fingers to "massage" it into the face. Over this I took a little High Definition Healthy FX Foundation with my trusting Travel Foundation Brush. I took the Camera Ready Concealer in 3.0 in my inner corner and the 2.0 on the outer corner of the black circles and used the no. 4 Concealer Brush to blend.
To set the makeup I took up the Mineral Powder Brush to buff the High Definition Powder into the makeup. This powder means the concealer won't run into the fine lines under my eyes and that's why I love it! Over this I took some of the Photo Op to keep the brightening effect to a max.
On my eyes I used Primer Potion as a base for the eye colours and for once used the HighBrow over this. It does make the blending harder, I usually do it before but I forgot to do it before.
I gave my face a healthy glow with Prismissime Mat & Glow and the no. 22 Feather brush to make it more natural.

Eyes
At this point I took up Naked with the All Over Shadow Brush to give the eyelid a little more of a neutral base colour.
On the outer corner of my eye (a little over the crease) I placed Adore which is a very rich blue, I also took this colour on the outer corner of my lower lash line, for this I used the no. 15 Definer Brush. On the rest of the lower lash line I used Peace (again with the Definer Brush) and I blended Peace with the Adore on the eyelid as well, taking it in just up to the inner corner and into the crease. On the inner corner I placed Graffiti and blended this into the Peace on the top and lower lash line with the Definer Brush.
Because Peace is a satin sheen colour and I needed more of a pop (the girl I'm doing this for has a much darker skin tone then I have) I used Digital which has more sparkle in the centre of the eyelid to add some popping power.
Now here comes the "difference", I didn't smoke up the previous colours that much, that smoking will be done with a different colour, a more natural but still dark brown colour. I chose Twice Baked and blended this into the Adore, Peace and Digital in and over the crease. I used the no. 26 Shadow brush because this is a very fluffy brush and that means it blends very well.
To make the white of the eyes look even more white I took Aqua Eyes on my waterlines. I curled my lashes and used Diorshow in black as a mascara.

Lips Because the eyes are very powerful I chose a softer lip colour. I used the lip side of the Smashbox Lip&Lid primer and used my latest addition to my Smashbox collection, the Wicked Lovely Lipgloss in Coy as a lip colour.

Challenge 8 - Vampire Costuem Look (October 11, 2008)

Hi everyone, here is the real Vampire Costuem Look I was challenged to to by suebree96.

Original look:

My look:

It was actually really hard to do a look from a drawing, but it was a really fun challenge to do and I scared the living daylights out of my dad, so I did have a laugh with it when it was done.

Preparation
As this look has layers of makeup, I needed to have a great looking fresh skin, so I used a tester of MD Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel (which I really liked!) to clean up all the dead skin cells. I used Clinique Repairwear Eyecream and Neutrogena ClearSkin moisturizer to protect and feed my skin.

Products in this picture:

Bourjois, Black & White Kohl Pencil

Too Faced, Magic Wand Foundation - New York Light

Smashbox, Lip & Lid Primer

Smashbox, Camera Ready Concealer - 3.0

Smashbox, Concealer Brush - no. 4

Smashbox, Wicked Lovely Doubletake Lip Color - Gossamer

Smashbox, Photo Finish Clear Primer Potion

Rimmel London, Colour Rush Mono eyeshadow - Jet Black (214)

Smashbox, Eye Shadow Trio - Panorama

Stila, Smudge Pot - Black

Smashbox, Photo Op - Under Eye Brightener

Sephora, Eyelash curler

Make Up For Ever, Super Matte Loose Powder - no. 12

YSL, Touche Eclat - no. 2

Da Vinci - Eyeliner Brush

Sephora Brand Professionnel Platinum, Natural Dome Smudge Brush - no. 13

Smashbox, Shadow brush - no. 26

Smashbox, Definer Brush - no. 15

Smashbox, Smudge brush - no. 20

Smashbox, Angled Brow brush - no. 12

Smashbox, Arced Liner brush - no. 21

Sephora Brand Professionnel, Mineral Brush - no. 45

Christian Dior, DiorShow Mascara - 090 black

Bourjois, Lipstick - no. 13

Clarins, Lipstick - no. 50

Face
I started my face with Photo Finish Clear Primer Potion to create a base and make sure the makeup wouldn't move. Over this base I took quite a thick layer of Magic Wand Foundation, because it's a light reflecting foundation and it's the lightest I have. Also this foundation can be build up from fairly see through to a covering foundation. At this point I used the Photo Op to prevent puffy eyes later on. I didn't need the lighting effect, so I used it under my concealer which I used with a concealer brush to hide my dark circles. I used the Smashbox Lid primer on my lids to see how well makeup would blend over this (the same as with Urban Decay Primer Potion) and well the makeup stuck to my eyes (pretty well, but I didn't go through the rain so no definite opinion yet). I used a little Touche Eclat under my eyes working in a triangle working to a point on the apple of my cheek, blending out very well. Over this I used some Make Up For Ever powder to set everything. My eye now looks like this:

I took up the Mineral Powder brush to brush a layer of the white eyeshadow from the Panorama trio over the centre of my face blending working outward. This means you don't have to contour your face to prevent it from looking flat and you're lightening your face because a vampire is pale.
I took a picture of my eye after I placed the white pencil before blending to show you the placement before blending with a brush.

I went over the white pencil with some more Panorama white using the no. 15 Definer brush to set the pencil.

I placed some grey around my eye using the definer brush to have more control over the placement. I used it under my eye working outward, on the brow bone, blending into the white and down and on the side of my nose (at eye-height). See this picture for the placement:

As you can see, I look like I have a black eye:

I used a Stila Smudge Pot as a base on my eyelid to darken the colour.

As you can see it wasn't a blended outer line, I worked the colour up to the crease with a smudger brush and blending wasn't needed because I'll go over it with more black later. Also, vampires don't have perfect eyes, this eye is the example of beautiful ugly makeup, so if you make mistakes... they aren't a huge drama.

I went over the black with the Rimmel black and the no 26 shadow brush. I used an angles eyebrow brush to place a perfect line over the white and an arced liner brush to blend the colour down in the inner corner (not into the white, around the white and down).

With the no. 20 smudge brush I blended some of the smudge pot in my lower lash line and went over it with my definer brush and black Rimmel eyeshadow.

To see how high I needed to go with the black, I looked really angry. And for a laugh I wanted to show you that eye as well:

As you can see, the black blended up very high, almost into the eyebrow at the beginning and end and only keeping the white I placed in the arc perfectly white.

Now to see how the tears needed to go, I drew them in with the definer brush and black shadow, also this creates a cheat sheet for how to hold your head for the perfect tears later.

Before adding the tears I chose to darken the under eye area a little more:

Now I took a small bowl and put some water in it. I scraped some of the black eyeshadow in the water and I then dipped the Natural Dome Smudge Brush in it because this brush can hold a lot of water without dripping. I blended the black eyeshadow to a muddy texture in the makeup and then "emptied" it in the water. Now you have very dirty water, perfect for running makeup tears.

I placed the filled up brush at the base of my lower lashes and let a fake tear fall, helping the placement by moving my face. Sometimes I added some more "muck" to the tear halfway.

Build up the tears until you're happy with it.

All you need to do right now is curl your lashes and add mascara. You can even choose to use false lashes to intensify the eye some more but I liked the rough look better.

Lips
I used some Lip Primer on my lips and took my new Wicked Lovely Doubletake Lip Color in Gossamer. Using the lip liner colour on my top lip and the lip colour on the bottom, now in the picture you don't see much of a difference, but in real life the top lip was more pink then the bottom lip.
I used a mixture of a more red (Bourjois) and a more brown (Clarins) lipstick to create a bloody effect, you could use fake blood, but this was fine for me. I placed the colour with a Da Vinci eyeliner brush to have more control over the colour. I placed it more in the corner of my lip and went up a little to make a little false grin (sort of like the joker in the batman movies).

Now the look is done and I was looking like this:

You can add false teeth to be even more vampire!

Grey/Brown with a hint of Gold look (September 27, 2008)

Bellaressa was in need of a few looks that are easy and great for at work. Also they need to be easily kicked into a night look.
She has a fashion event which needs a little "trendy kick" , and normal meetings, day trips, lunches and evenings coming up, for which she needs a pulled together and professional look. I know she wears glasses... and here is my advise.

I did two looks for Bellaressa which I will post in detail in two posts. This post will be for a sophisticated fashion event (semi night look because there will probably be no natural light), the other will be a quick 5 to 10 minute face/eye.

This look is a dark grey/brown with a hint of gold smokey eye. I'd pair this with neutral lips.

Preparation
Because I needed a clean radiant face, I used Bliss Sleeping Peel Cleansing Cream to clean and take away dead skin cells. I then used Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and Clinique Moisture Surge
Extra Refreshing Eye Gel on my face and Bliss, Thinny Thin Chin on my neck area.

Products in this picture:

Smashbox, Hybrid 2 in 1 - Luminizing Foundation Primer

YSL, Teint Parfait - no. 3 Champagne

YSL, Teint Parfait - no. 7 No. 7 Golden Sand

Smashbox, Photo Op - Under eye Brightener

Benefit, Highbrow

Face
When my moisturizer had soaked into my skin I placed a pea sized amount of Hybrid 2 in 1 on my finger and then mixed the two with the ring and middle finger of my other hand and then went over my face. I mixed a little no. 3 and no. 7 Teint Parfait to get a apricot tint with a mild golden shimmer. This made my face look radiant and pretty. With a little Photo Op under my eyes and on top of the lid I was done, no concealer was needed. I used Highbrow under my brows to highlight the brow bone.

Products in this picture:

Urban Decay, Urban Survival Kit (using the Primer Potion, colour Midnight Cowgirl: subtle golden-beige w/ gold glitter - Item # 36350)

Smashbox, Definer Brush no. 15

Smashbox, Shadow Brush no. 26

Sephora, Eyelash Curler

Dior, Diorshow - 090 Black Waterproof

Guerlain, Ombre Eclat 4 couleurs in 401 Jeu de Nuit (using the red circled colours)

Eyes
I started the eye with a thin layer of Primer Potion as a base on the eye.
I needed a brown grey tone to work well with the gold. I found a great grey when layering the top left grey over the bottom right brown. The Guerlain palette is one of my favourites because a wash of colour makes the colours day wear ready and a thick layer makes it perfect for night. I used the no. 26 shadow brush to place the brown on my eye on the eyelid first, I then cleaned the brush and washed the colour upward over my crease. I then took the same brush and placed the grey colour over the brown, blending it at the crease into the brown, but making sure the brown was still the highest colour on the eye.
I used the grey with the no. 15 definer brush to create a smokey line under my eye that is a little brighter then on top of the eye to make the eye seem more awake.
I then dipped my finger in the Midnight Cowgirl, I used my finger because then you have less fallout. Shake your hand a little to make sure you have no fallout. I know people who blow on the finger to remove the fallout, but that is blowing bacteria on your finger, so if it's on your own eye, do whatever you like, know it's bacteria you're blowing on your finger, but if you don't care, that's fine by me, it's your decision and your eye. If you're doing makeup on someone else, just shake the hand and make the fallout fall off that way because you don't want to place your bacteria on the person your doing the makeup on.
I placed the finger then on the centre of the eye and made a small circular motion while pressing, don't patt it in because you'll have gold on your cheeks then. Also press a little gold in your inner corner using your pinky.
If I close the finished eye it looks like this:

I finished the look with curled lashes and waterproof Diorshow in black.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I also looked at some previous looks I did to see if some would work for Bellaressa's situation. A look to show you know fashion and what's trendy now is a neutral face
Another natural look is:
Team the natural look with a great berry or red lip:
You can also try the more satin finish lips from this look:
A great thing with this is, sport the neutral look during the day and add some red lipstick and an extra coat of mascara for night and look instantly polished.

If you want a more funky but still serious look try this look during the day:
AND add colour to the outer corner for night making it look more like this: only try it without the red under the eyes, because I think with glasses that wouldn't look all that super, maybe use a nice green or blue instead.

You could also try great wings:

I hope some of these looks are perfect for your coming week Bellaressa!
And I hope everyone else liked the eye look for this blog post!!
