Dripping with jewels

Hi everyone,

The grey nails I was wearing are perfect, seriously. But it's summer... and I wanted something to scream SUMMERRRRR, so I added some cheap nailpolish (unbranded) with holograpic sparkles and particles. I placed layer one on 2/4th of my nail, then layer two on 1/2th of my nail, and then the last coat on the tips only, making most of the "jewels" end up on the tips. I love this gradient on my nails.

Hi everyone,

I'm going to celebrate my 1 year of blogging on TeamSugar here with a giveaway (yes another one - but this one is different).

On April 7th 2008 I posted my first ever look, after this it was a long time untill I did my second look, but still it was my first look and I want to celebrate that at the same time as my 100th look. Sooo I'm trying to do my 100th look on April 7th 2009.

I want to share this special day with you... because I found many friends here and I'm really thankfull for all of your support.

I've bought two small sets called "Make a Wish" by Essence. I bought them during Christmas thinking I'd do a giveaway then, but I didn't and I thought this occasion was perfect. The name gave me the idea for how I would choose who to give these to. Soooo here's what I'm giving away:

I'm giving away the two Make a Wish glitter and nail polish sets. One has silver glitters and is called Falling Star, the other has red glitter and is called It's Magic. I'm adding a Paris Hilton tester for the scent Heiress and 2 Jabu'she testers, one is a Day & Night creme (2 ml) and the other is an Eye creme (2 ml).

Soooo just as with the other give-away there is a catch.
1. You have to be following me (I know you can undo the following me if you don't get anything... it's a stupid rule, but it's there :P),
2. The theme for this give-away is "Make a Wish", and the person with the best wish will get everything in the picture (without the cloth it's lying on and the two silver window jewelry thingies which are there for show).

Sephora Lesson 2 Glitter Eyes Palette

I think most of you remember when I did the Smokey Eyes Lesson 1 Tutorial.

Well, lesson 2 has been out for a while now and I bought it the minute I saw it.

Now to be honest there are some great things in the palette and there are some not so great things in the palette. You can buy the palette <a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P222601&categoryId=B70">here</a>.

As with the first palette they have a picture and text tutorial in the palette to show you how to recreate the glitter eyes from the cover. Now to be honest, I don't think you can recreate the exact cover look with this palette simply because it's not got a dark enough grey to look almost black and the glitter isn't strong enough either.

I did follow the instructions and got this eye:

That's quite different don't you think?

The pallette works this way:
1. You line your eyes with the glitter pencil (black with small specks of glitter). It's a very pretty pencil, very soft so great for smudging. Which I did do and then I lined again.
2. You smoke out your eyes with the dark grey eyeshadow.
3. You create the highlight with the light grey eyeshadow.
4. Now you have the great glitter mascara/liner gadget. It's a round mascarawand with a liner brush tip. So now you line your eyes with the glitter.
5. You use the mascara as a mascara and when it's dry you go over it with the glitter mascara and you're done.

This is a great eye for Christmas, and it does give you a nice smokey glittery eye, but don't think it will look like the cover, because it won't. Also it's very prone to smudging and running. I did use my primer potion under it and it still went into my crease in under thirty minutes. So maybe it's my oily skin because it's winter and I use a more oily cream, and it could be that it just moves very easily on the skin.

In yellow light after 10 minutes (already seeping into the lines under my eyes):

All in all, it's a 3 out of 5 for me, because if you use it differently the directed, you have a great eyeliner, a great glitter mascara and two nice grey glittery eyeshadows.

Lips
I started by scrubbing my lips with a wet toothbrush to make them all smooth and soft. I then primed my lips with Benefit LipPlump which also plumps the lips a little. I lined my lips with Lush to shape the lips. The first colour I used was Greedy, which is a lip stain and is a great base. Over this base I used the Rimmel London Bordeaux colour which is very pretty but I do still hate the smell. I blotted the lips and went over this with Bourjois Rouge which I placed with a retractable lip brush. Over this I placed the red glitter with a Eyeshadow Blender brush. This brush is a flat stiff brush that is great for placement and also doesn't "eat" the glitter.

Now do make sure you use cosmetic glitter because that doesn't damage the thin skin you have on your lips and don't eat or lick your lips after you place the glitter. If you want to remove the glitter afterwards, the best way to do this, is by using scotch tape to lift off the glitter without actually hurting the skin.
