For those who dare...

Hi everyone,

Well, I've been taking some time this week to do some looks for you on me and my friends. So to start of the posts is this Black Lip I've been asked to make work for real life. This is still very very strong, so probably most of you will only think of wearing this on Halloween.... but for those who dare....

To start of the look I scrubbed my lips using .

Making my lips look like this:

I then took up my NEW (and dampened) Beauty Blender and the lightest MUFE HD Foundation (140) .

Which made my lips look like this: .

I wanted a little bit of a moisturizing base but because I was using black I wanted a little plumping effect as well, so I used DuWop Lip Venom.

Making my lips look like this: .

I don't have a black lippencil, so I used a soft eyepencil. Remember when you're doing this that you HAVE TO clean the pencil afterwards. I cleaned it with alcohol and then I sharpened it. You HAVE to do this because you don't want Lip Venom in your eyes next time you use the pencil on your eyes. .

My lined lips look like this. This is the time to perfect your liplines .

I don't have black lipstick either, but I do have the Make Up For Ever Flash Palette. This contains 12 cream colours which you can use on eyes (as a base) on face and lips (body too of course, but that would be very expensive if you used this all over your body. The brush I used to apply the black is the The Body Shop lipbrush. This brush is a little stiff making the application very neat .

My lips with only the black look like this: . If you want all black lips, you can keep it the way it is now... I wanted to add a little red to it though to make it less "dead". I pressed my finger on the inside of my lips to remove some of the black and then I pressed some red from the same Flash palette on the middle of my lips. The finished lips look like this:

I love it! Vampy, but with some nuance. It's probably too much for everyday wear, but I could totally see it working for fall if it were blotted a bit. And obviously for Halloween Laughing out loud

Beautiful work, as always!

i think the black with red is actually pretty wearable. Not for everyday of course but for a night out with friends to a party or somewhere you can be alittle over the top

Though this is not my style (the darkest I will go for my lips is a medium plum-wine or burgundy) however I do love this look. There is an edgy sexiness to a dark lip that fascinates me. Also is photographs in quite a cool way. The touch of red is perfect.

I love this! I would never have thought to add some red and I think it makes it look so much better. Great job.

I do agree with the addition of red over the black. It's very dramatic.... great for a performer, a party or Halloween.... Elvira would approve.

LOVE THIS on you. Funny I just blogged a dark lip look too. More blackberry. How do you like the Lip Strip?
